Thanks for your prompt response, Jared! The make and src directories are attached here. Regarding where the solver fails, I am not sure how to tell which star is failing and what phenomenon causes it. Maybe we can have a discussion off-list to avoid clutter here and come back with a resolution?

We'll need a bit more information on why the solver fails. Is the solver failing because of mass transfer or some binary phenomenon? Which star is failing? Is it the core or surface of the star that is having issues?

Also, on the setup: is there anything in run_star_extras or binary_extras? (can you send a full working directory?)

PS -- if you're exploding stripped donors, note that the test_suite is designed for a H-rich envelope and a lot of the steps involve tracking where in the star the shock is relative to the He core. I'm happy to correspond off-list (or on-list) about how to blow up stripped things with a similar setup as ccsn_IIp.

I am trying to model a massive binary system (mass >10M_sun for both stars) using MESA-r24.08.1. The system evolves only till about 15-16 Myrs and then the solver fails. This is around the time when He is depleted from the donor star and C burning is underway. I need to take the system beyond C burning (of the donor star) and right up to Si burning (of the donor star), so that the donor star model can then be exploded as in the star/test_suite/ccsn example. Can you please advice on how to proceed? I have attached a copy of my inlists for reference. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
