I'm writing with the very sad news that Bill Paxton has passed away.
Lars Bildsten asked me to share a short note with the MESA community, which you’ll find below.

It is with deep regret that I write to share this news with the MESA community. Bill Paxton died on July 23, 2025 after a prolonged health struggle. His spouse, Kathlyn, sends her thanks to all of you for your continued support and engagement with MESA. Bill was very proud of this accomplishment and happy to see its evolution to what it represents today: a true scientific resource for all.
