Hello,


My limited understanding is that to model a neutron star core, one would need to solve the TOV equation directly with a nuclear EOS, both of which are not contained within MESA in its current form. There are perhaps better software instruments suited to modeling neutron star cores, maybe GR1D, NSCool, or some python tools like TOVsolver for static NS cores from an EOS? Other MESA-users community members might be able to offer better suggestions.

Dear colleagues,
  
I'm reaching out to seek your guidance on creating a neutron star model. I'm currently teaching my students about stellar structure and evolution, and I'm particularly interested in demonstrating the inner profiles of neutron stars as an example.

I'm wondering how to create a neutron star model using MESA. I've noticed that in the star/test_suite, there are three packages (ns_h, ns_he, and ns_c in r24) which are used in building envelopes, but they don't seem to include the inner structure. Could you provide some guidance on this?

I truly appreciate any suggestions or guidance you can provide on this matter. Thank you in advance for your help.
