[Mesa-users] Have a totally new reaclib

Dear Rita,
Generally speaking, to change the JINA REACLIB file that is used in MESA,
one needs to put the new file in the following directory:
$MESA_DIR$/data/rates_data. In the MESA versions I've used, there are
multiple versions of the reaclib file in that directory. By using
jina_reaclib_filename = ' ' in the starjob part of the inlist, you can set
the new file to be used. You might also want to set the following two
commands: set_rates_preference = .true. and new_rates_preference = 2 in the
starjob part of the inlist, which ensures you are using the JINA REACLIB
exclusively unless a rate is not available in the file. These last two
commands have been removed in more recent MESA versions, and the rates are
treated slightly differently, which can be found in the changelog of
version 22.11.1.
However, if you have changed the formatting of the JINA REACLIB file
compared to the earlier versions, it might be that MESA cannot read it.
Also, I don't know how one tells MESA which reactions are available in the
JINA REACLIB file, so this is more a question for the developers.
With kind regards,
Hannah
