[Mesa-users] Trouble with binary models for a certain range of parameters

Hello,


I am trying to run some binary models (WD + MS, RLOF mass transfer) but am experiencing some difficulties. Any help would be greatly appreciated.


I want to look at the changes in the evolution fixing m2 (= 0.7 Msun, point mass) and varying m1. My problem is that while m1 = 1.0 and 1.5 Msun with initial periods p0 ~ 1 - 3 days run fine, masses in between these values (ex. 1.3, 1.4 Msun) causes the models to terminate (after the first timestep or shortly after).


It retries many times due to max_residual > tol_residual_norm and the termination code is min_timestep_limit. I have attached all inlist files to this email.


If anyone has any idea what the issue could be or what would be the best way to avoid it, please let me know. I am still on a learning curve with MESA and binaries in general.
