[Mesa-users] Increase DPI for pgstar

Another approach which works if you’re interested in image *files* (rather than on-screen) display, is to write the plots out as encapsulated postscript (EPS) files, and then convert them to PNG files with the desired resolution.

This is a slow process, but leads to good results. I use it to improve the quality of the movies produced by MESA-Web (see, e.g., http://www.astro.wisc.edu/~townsend/static.php?ref=mesa-web-output).

There's no way I know to (simply) increase the DPI of pgstar plots.  But there is pgstar_lw = 8 to increase the linewidth, and pgstar_box_lw = 3 for axis line widths. There are a number of other options available at the top of the pgstar.defaults file that might help as well (things with _lw as their name should increase the linewidth).

My name is Oliver and I study physics in Germany. This semester we work with mesa and my problem is, that the plots are to small. I use it on a 4k screen and I am visually impaired. I only find a way to change the width of the images/plots, but than the lines are to thin. Is there a way to increase the DPI of the image? I normally use 200-250%. On Linux with kde the scaling for the desktop works for the plot to, but the images are still to small.
