the EOS table writing / loading code.

I think you can reinterpret the value you were getting as

  true free_e = exp(ln(reported free_e) / ln(10))

I can't provide a source code fix at the moment, but we'll work on getting
this cleaned up.  For most models, this should just be a cosmetic issue.
