Okay, so we need more information to be able to help you.
What's limiting your timestep? Have you tried changing some timestep
controls to see if that helps?
What is your star doing at this point in time? It is stuck during a pulse?
During the relaxation process after a pulse? Between pulses? This is where
making plots to see what the star is doing can help you.
