[Mesa-users] Error installing MESA r8118

Hello MESA users,

My name is Weston, I am an undergraduate and a fairly new MESA user. Up
until now I have been using the newer release and not had any issues, but I
am attempting to install an older release to use its modules, and having
troubles compiling. I am on a Linux Ubuntu 20.04 system, trying to install
MESA r8118 using the 20160129 SDK (mesasdk-x86_64-linux-20160129.tar.gz).

The install succeeds on the const and utils packages, and then fails after
several compile errors in the crlibm package that look like:
/usr/include/x86_64-linux-gnu/sys/cdefs.h:492:49: error: missing binary
operator before token "("
 #if __GNUC_PREREQ (4,8) || __glibc_clang_prereq (3,5)

I attached in a plain text file the crlibm/crlibm/config.log for all the
errors it gives.

For reference:

"uname -a" returns
Linux deathstar 5.8.0-43-generic #49~20.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Fri Feb 5 09:57:56
UTC 2021 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

"echo $MESA_DIR" returns
/home/weston/mesa-r8118

"echo $MESASDK_ROOT" returns
/home/weston/mesasdk2016
(with different versions of the SDK installed I had to rename the old one)

"echo $PATH" returns
/home/weston/mesasdk2016/bin:/home/weston/mesasdk/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games:/usr/local/games:/snap/bin

"gfortran --version" returns
GNU Fortran (GCC) 5.3.1 20160129
Copyright (C) 2015 Free Software Foundation, Inc.

I hope I have given enough information in order to find a solution, but I
can always provide more. If anyone has any help it would be much
appreciated.
