You also need to modify your history_columns.list to include these values
in your history columns.
See the section titled

> !# Color output

in $MESA_DIR/star/defaults/history_columns.list.

Add

> add_abs_mag

to your local history_columns.list to add absolute magnitudes in the
various bands to your output.
Add

> add_lum_band

to add the luminosity in erg/s in those bands.
