Hi Thomas,
I can't comment on the details on how you are producing the CMD based on
the bolometric corrections, but note the file you have sent with the BCs
include many BCs for given T, logg, Fe/H values which relate to
different Av values. These probably correspond to the different possible
reddening values tabulated in the MIST BCs. As an example, here's an
extract from your file for the Gaia magnitudes:
5500.0 4.0 0.0 0.06188 -0.29692 0.58633
5500.0 4.0 0.0 0.01879 -0.35041 0.55383
5500.0 4.0 0.0 -0.02415 -0.40381 0.52137
5500.0 4.0 0.0 -0.06695 -0.45713 0.48894
5500.0 4.0 0.0 -0.10961 -0.51036 0.45655
5500.0 4.0 0.0 -0.19451 -0.61656 0.39188
5500.0 4.0 0.0 -0.27884 -0.72241 0.32737
5500.0 4.0 0.0 -0.44586 -0.93312 0.19879
5500.0 4.0 0.0 -0.61071 -1.14253 0.07081
5500.0 4.0 0.0 -0.77343 -1.35068 -0.05657
5500.0 4.0 0.0 -1.55693 -2.37378 -0.6844
5500.0 4.0 0.0 -2.99254 -4.34642 -1.89552
5500.0 4.0 0.0 -4.28967 -6.24614 -3.05049
The first row corresponds to Rv=3.1 and Av=0, the last to Av=6.0. Note
that BCs are strongly affected by this. Could it be your interpolation
is using BCs corresponding to high Av values, therefore much reddened
and dimmer as your CMD suggests? If this is the case, then make sure you
are using the tables for the correct Av value.
I hope this helps.
