[Mesa-users] Massive star evolution after CO core formation

Hi
Firstly, the terminal output contains a string in the bottom right corner
that tells you what is currently setting mesa's timestep. You can then
search for that string in the controls.default file to find an appropriate
control that you could tweak (or atleast use to understand what physics is
setting the current limit).

It's hard to say what is limiting your timesteps without seeing any plots.
I would suggest setting up the pgstar inlist from
https://zenodo.org/record/3986828 which will then contain alot of
information about your star and will make it much much easier to debug why
a problem is occurring.
