[Mesa-users] Does it need to consider convection when relaxing entropy?

For the composition you can look for the string " done relax_composition"
in the terminal output. For the entropy case, its a little trickier but
again if you look in the terminal output you'll see the model number resets
back to 1. Have a look at the few lines before that and you'll see no error
messages. So the relax routines have worked for you.

That looks like it happens because your case 2 and 3 are working after the
relax process, so the age in the output files is reset to a sensible
number. In case 1 your model crashes shortly after the relax process,
probably before it can overwrite the history data. Thus your age gets left
with the garbage value that's used during the relax_compoisition and thus
should not be trusted.

Those don't look great but a) they look like maybe 1-2 zones are perhaps
wrong and b) your star has just been violently rearranged it can take time
to get back into equilibrium. Also looking at the run.log it looks like the
star finished the relax process so have a look at those plots instead of
the relax ones to see if the luminosity spikes are there.

If you look at the timestep after the relax process it's very small, but
your case 2 and 3 are working. It will take time for the model to re-reach
an equilibrium and you've not  even given it 1 second yet, so maybe let the
model run and see if the luminosity spikes disappear.
