At start up, there is usually a description (controlled by
show_log_description_at_start = .true.).

For more info than that, I think the next stop is the code that writes it
out in star/private/do_one_utils.f90

No.  You can output new info via run_star_extras, but the terminal grid is
not easily modifiable.
