[Mesa-users] Evolution from main sequence to sub-giant phase

in broad terms, the star_job default

      create_pre_main_sequence_model = .false.

will attempt to construct a main-sequence model for a given mass and metallicity.
and one can then stop the evolution via controls when the luminosity rises above some value

       log_L_upper_limit = 3.0

and/or when the helium core has grown to some value

       he_core_mass_limit = 0.5

and/or near helium ignition

       power_he_burn_upper_limit = 1.0

the chosen stopping values may depend on the zams mass, depending on what one is trying to do.
