[Mesa-users] Question about modelling a star with neutron star at its core

Hi,
The effect of the TOV terms terms can be incorporated into the equations by modifying the local gravitational constant by means of the “other_cgrav” capability in mesa.
Here’s code that does that:
In the &controls section of your inlist, add this line
use_other_cgrav = .true. ! for GR factor with gravity
I’ve run that in the current pre-release version, but not in the public one. Let me know if you have problems getting it to work.

In the original paper by Thorne and Zytkow (and later by others), the general relativistic effect is incorporated in the stellar structure. But the general relativistic effects (like TOV equations, and others) are not included in MESA. Can someone please guide me on how to incorporate general relativistic effects?

I think there are various options available in the default files, and if I want to change those values then I have to make inlists to include those changes (otherwise the model will take the default values). Is this the way the process works? If I am wrong, please correct me. Is there any tutorial available for beginners? Though this is a very basic question, it will help me to understand the process better.

I want to model a star which has a neutron star at its core and a gaseous envelope (about the size of solar radius or more) over it (more or less like a Thorne Zytkow object). Is it possible to model this type of star in MESA? As I am new here, can someone please guide me how do I do that (or any specific tutorial available to handle this problem)?
