[Mesa-users] Letter to Professors

Hi Kai-an,

Given that mesa.lbol, mesa.ph, mesa.res, mesa.swd, and mesa.tt were
created, it looks like STELLA did in fact run to completion, but the
stella_extras post-processing script (which makes output files that are
easier to interpret) did not run.

>From your last screenshot it also looks like you've moved or copied
$MESA_DIR/stella to a separate location, correct?
If you've moved the stella directory, you will have to edit the
res/makefile and your res/stella_extras.f90 file to change the name of
MESA_DIR from '../..' to whatever your working MESA directory is.

If you have edited stella_extras and want to test this, you don't need to
rerun stella, just
cd res
make
./stella_extras

The current output (mesa.tt) should be usable. If you want to read the
output files, you should treat them as you would any other plaintext file
and read it with a text editor like vim, emacs, atom, or sublime.

Best,
~Jared
