The PPISN test suite is certainly not designed for evolving stars with
hydrogen envelopes so theres is no guarantee it will work with a hydrogen
envelope.

I've found turning off the conv_vel flag during the MS/Cheb helps massive
stars (and turn it back on after core helium burning when the timesteps get
small)

Hard to say what is going on. Have a look at the terminal output and see
what is limiting the timestep. Make some plots, is it the envelope causing
problems or the core? Is the star undergoing a PPISN?
Also please don't send zip files. You also definitely don't need to send
your log and photo folders. We only need to see inlists, run_star_extras.f,
and any starting models you use.
