[Mesa-users] Test not terminating at the required phase

Hi Kim,

Thanks! That makes it easy to look for problems. Here’s one in inlist_to_wd_header that explains your pgstar issue:

&pgstar

      read_extra_pgstar_inlist1 = .true.
      extra_pgstar_inlist1_name = 'inlist_to_wd'

/ ! end of pgstar namelist

That’s pointing to inlist_to_wd, which has an empty pgstar section, so I think you want to change that to point to inlist_pgstar like inlist_to_end_agb_header does. With your current setup, there will be no pgstar output during the last phase of evolution onto the white dwarf track even though the model is successfully getting there.

As for the LOGS output, the “rn” script for this case is set up to move LOGS to a new directory at the end of each stage of the run. E.g. for the final stage the LOGS information should end up in a directory called LOGS_to_wd. Do you see that?

Cheers,
Evan

My guess is that something about your pgstar settings caused you to stop saving pngs when switching from inlist_to_end_agb to inlist_to_wd. Or maybe you saved them in some other location? It’s hard to say any more without seeing a full copy of your work directory.

I did set log_L_lower_limit = -1 in my the model (inlist_to_wd) but still, that also did not help. Also, my LOGS folder is empty. I am really worried about that.

Instead, it terminates at around the end of the thermally pulsing AGB phase (I think) when the log of the surface luminosity is around 3.5. I am not sure what I am missing? I set log_L_lower_limit = -1 in the inlist_project file.
