Dear Aaron,
Thank you very much for your attentions and reply.
I modified the convective pressure via the subroutine of other_mlt in run_star_extra.f to change the total pressure.
For instance:
>>if (logT<4.5)then
>> mlt_basics(mlt_conv_dP_term)=mlt_basics(mlt_conv_dP_term)*0.5d0
>>endif
The code can regularly run, but the calculated structure are the same with the unchanged convective pressure.
The changed convective pressure is not transmited to the total pressure, i.e., the total pressure is not changed.
Thanks again.
best wishes!
Tao

Dear Tao,
You have not provided enough information for us to help you.

Only you know what "it" is and only you know what "work" means in this case. Please read
http://mesa.sourceforge.net/troubleshooting.html#post-a-question-to-mesa-users
and try again.
Thanks,
Aaron

Hi everyone,
I want to artificially change the profile of pressure at the stellar outer envelope. How can I modify the code?
I'm trying to change the total pressure via changing the convective pressure from s% other_mlt, like changing
temperature gradient I have used before (MESA v10398). But, unfortunately, it does not work. The profiles of the
total pressure are the same with and without the changed convective pressure here.
Thanks in advance for your patience.
Best wishes!
Tao
