[Mesa-users] How mesa burning produced?

Hi,

I run the test_suite of ne_he with a smaller neutron star, which the star is made from example neutron_star_envelope. I first make a ns envelope of 1.28 solar_mass and center_L = 1e37, just goto step ns9 (not ns10), then i copy this final model (ns9.mod) to ne_he directory and let it accrecte he4. I want to see when and how this star burn. I do not modify other condition in ne_he. But it runs for a long time (over 10000 steps) and do not burn. So i wan to ask how mesa judge the burning condition in such case (neutron star accrecte he4), like when to start, when to stop. Can i calculate the condition in advance before the running? And if the accretion do not cause burning, whether it means the composition do not change and the atomsphere only change its mass, radius etc ?
I use version 11701. Can anyone give me any suggestion? Thank you for any help in advance.
