Hi, I attach the build.log of my installation with this letter. You can see from this file that there are two modified segments that added by the echo command, one is in the kap and the other is the ionization instalation segment. I add echo command before and after each command. Then it build successfully. After the installation, my free disk in win 7 is about 30GB. I use a shared disk between win 7 and VMware at the first time and install MESA in this shared disk. But then i find that ubuntu could not make soft link in shared disk, then i copy MESA into the VMware space and install it there. I do not try to build them without those additional echo command and at least i can use them now. :-)
Anyway, thank you for your reply and help. But with the two link, one is for windows 10, but i only use win 7 and the other, i could not visit google from my site because of the wetsite block, so i do not know the result.

I'm not sure this is the source of the problem, but you will probably find 2gb insufficient. How much empty space does the actual physical Win 7 disk have?

You're saying that when you add these echo commands, MESA successfully installs? Can you post the final output in the terminal when you use this method? Does it say something along the lines of "MESA installed successfully"?

There are also 2 MESA pre-built virtual machines, if you want to try them instead. The first is a Docker appliance and is the sanctioned method for installing MESA in a container. You can find it here:

OK. I suspect that your virtual hdd is not big enough, since the opacity files are the biggest part of MESA, size wise. What size did you set it at?

in my experience, such errors arose from a 32 bit OS trying to
operate on a file larger than it can handle (~2 GB).
mesa requires a 64 bit OS.

i don't know enough about ubuntu to say anything more.
