Seems that whatever the bug was, it has been fixed in the current (not-yet-released) version.

So it will be in the next public release.

The remaining difference between the requested Teff and the slightly smaller reported value might be fixable by tweaks to the user-determined value of tau at the surface.   or maybe not.   i hope that isn’t a major concern.   perhaps what we have now is good enough for astrophysics.  ;-)

Here is an example.  I am using MESA version 12036 on my mac laptop, and running this example exactly as it appears in test_suite/rsp_Cepheid.

I have turned on the pgstar plots by making pgstar_flag = .true. in inlist_rsp_Cepheid

The RSP_Teff of this model in the inlist is defined as 6050 (K).

In the plot generated after a few cycles (screenshot attached), the effective_T is 5076 K (too low), and the plot in the upper right shows the cycles that are varying around T_eff = 5074-5078 K.

So I am not sure how or where these lower Teff values are being calculated for the plots.  There is a history column file with 'effective_T'.
