[Mesa-users] problem with pgstar plots for very large (>7 digit) model numbers in MESA RSP

Thanks for your fast reply and your hint.  I tried changing all of the 999999 values in pgstar.defaults to have one (or two) more 9's, but this still change still does not seem to work.


If I restart from a photo with a number < 999999 the pgstar plots seem ok.  However, if I kill the job at a later point, delete the pgstar.dat file in the logs and try to restart from a higher model number than 999999, I still have the problem.


If I do not delete the pgstar.dat after running past model 999999, and try to restart, some of the plots work ok, for example the profile plots of the upper left (see attached screen shot). But the history plots still include the info from a restart just before 999999 (because I did not delete the pgstar.dat file), and the circle plots in the right panels are frozen (the red dot does not move around the cycle).


Are there other places in the code that also need to be updated to allow a restart of these history plots?  For example, do some of the default pgstar variable arrays also need to be redimensioned?

Hi Joyce,

In pgstar.defaults there are settings like

         History_Track1_step_max = 999999 ! only plot models with model number <= this

Make those values bigger.

I'll make a note to do something about this for the next release.
