explore the attached figure.
the arrows point in the direction of the main flow, but all of the
charged particle reactions have a forward and reverse rate.
c12(a,p) is a reverse reaction which takes a higher temperature to be come appreciable,
but it is always there. n15(p,g) is the normal forward flow of cycle 2 to o16.
note: c12(a,p)n15(p,g)o16 is effectively c12(a,g)o16 - the critical reaction of helium burning.
