from a run of this multi inlist test case and exploring out.txt 
the final termination criteria for and inlist_shock_part5 is

>               mach1 has reached this fraction of target    9.9999029464517863D-01
> mach1 has reached target location    14.40614    14.40598

which is set as the variable stop_m in src/run_star_extras.f
