When running planetary interior models from the "make_planets" suite, does

I don't think I understand the question.  Msun means "solar mass".

In the make_planets case, the initial mass and radius of the model is
specified in cgs, see e.g., inlist_create_1.0_MJ_10.0_ME_2.0_RJ, with the
line

    radius_in_cm_for_create_initial_model = 13982200000.d0 ! in cm
    mass_in_gm_for_create_initial_model = 1.8389d30 ! in grams

Later in that test case, when adding a core, the core mass is given in
solar units,

   new_core_mass = 3.00120651518e-05 ! 25 Mearth in Msun units

Most quantities throughout MESA are either in cgs or solar units.
