[Mesa-users] Relax entropy problem

Hi All,

I am trying to relax composition, angular momentum, and entropy using the inlist in the test_suite directory (but using get_entropy_for_relax_from_eos = ‘eosDT'). I run into troubles when relaxing the entropy and sometimes in the final step of the relaxation process. I saw emails in the archive from November 2017 with some suggestions from Pablo (lowering the relaxation timescale, lowering the timestep limit, increasing number of retries, decreasing the mesh coefficient) but none of the suggestions so far seemed to help. My error is usually dt < min_timestep_limit or too many retries. I’ll attach the inlist file and the .dat files I’m relaxing to. I’ve hit a wall and am unsure of what other parameters to adjust. The .dat files came from a different MESA simulation of an RCB star made with a stellar engineering approach and we are just trying to test the relaxation method and make sure we can get the RCB star back. I’m using MESA version 10108 on macOS Mojave 10.14.3. Any ideas, suggestions, or help would be greatly appreciated!
