[Mesa-users] missing kappa files

Changing "kappa_file_prefix = 'OP_a09_nans_removed_by_hand'" appears to have resolve my problems. At the very least MESA can find the opacity files. Is it safe to assume that the 'OP_a09_nans_removed_by_hand' opacities are the same as the 'OP_a09' opacities, minus the buggyness from having nans in the opacity table?

Hi Noah,
Is it as simple as changing "kappa_file_prefix = 'OP_a09_nans_removed_by_hand' "?
Did you try this? Try it and see what happens!
Have other people been able to get the OP_a09 opacities working? I noticed past emails to the mailing list for earlier versions of MESA have had similar issues. The documentation for r10398 says that 'OP_a09' is a valid argument for kappa_file_prefix. Should this be changed?
It sounds like the documentation should be updated; thanks for pointing that out. The reason for the mans-removed-by-hand is the OP opacity tables used to, and maybe still do includes NaNs in places, usually near the edges of the table. Someone (Bill?) went to the trouble of removing them and wanted us to know of their effort.
Aaron
Thanks,
