Thank you both for your suggestions, I really appreciate it!

Hi,
The other options you can use are:

dxdt_nuc_factor = 0

which turns off composition change from burning, but does not turn off the eps_nuc, so the star wont collapse when its burning is turned off, but it also wont evolve.

Or you can use:

eps_nuc_factor = 0

To turn off the energy from burning without however turning off the composition change from the nuclear reactions.

Hi Madison,

The easiest way to completely shut off all nuclear reactions is to include this control:

max_abar_for_burning = -1

Hello again MESA users,

I am interested in comparing the evolution of a 1M star (using the 1M_pre_ms_to_wd test suite) with nuclear fusion turned both off and on. On, of course, is the default, but I'm having some trouble with making sure any related nuclear reactions are turned off for the "without" runs.

So far, I have tried using the
net_logTcut_lo = 15.0
command in order to turn off reactions about 10^15 K. However, my plot did not behave as expected (I've attached my inlist for this run and the plots I generated), with my supposed non-fusion run giving me almost exactly the same graph as my fusion run.

I have checked the documentation and the archive, but I am uncertain how to turn all nuclear fusion reactions off. Any suggestions for how to make sure nuclear reactions are turned off?

I'm running MESA version 10398 on a remote 64-bit Linux server.

Thank you,
