I draw two plots of energy conservation profile for this test. Fig 0.66yr.png shows eps_grav, eps_extra, eps_net(nuclear-neutrino), and (L(k-1)-L(k))/dm at t=0.66yr during relaxing evolution. Fig 1.66yr.png shows them at t=1.66yr during heating. As Fig 1.66yr.png shows eps_grav around the heating area is zero and the error of energy conservation may be big. The inlist files, initial model, and run_star_extras file are sent to you.

Hi Ren,


The calculation proceeded well, but results showed that part of the heating area is not convective when the heating rate exceeds about 10**45 erg/year. This seems to be not physical.
 
Why does this not seem physical?  Can it just be that the injected energy is going into PdV work (and so does not need to be transported outwards)?  You might consider making a plot of the quantity eps_grav and comparing it to your heating rate.

Could anybody help me?


If this is a MESA problem, there's not enough information in your message to help.  Please send a reproducible test case (initial model, inlists, any run_star_extras code).
