[Mesa-users] Mesa installation on Windows 10

Dear Gajaz,

I use MESA on Windows 10. I could compile MESA using Windows 10 up to
version 9575, but without the mesasdk (the install scripts had options to
bypass its use) so mathematical calculations were not completely matching
with standard mesa output, but they were OK. After version 9575 mesa added
the use of the hd5 sdk and I could not compile then without a lot of work
getting hd5 working on Windows 10. Actually, it would be nice if there were
MESA releases that bypass the need for hd5, but that is not the case as far
as I know. I wrote my own code to display graphical output as the evolution
progressed.

With v 10108 onwards I have successfully used the Docker Container, but it
works better with Windows 10 Professional O/S rather than the basic Windows
10 O/S

I have an i7 chip (gives me 4 cores) and 8 GB memory. With this
configuration you can run MESA well, but it becomes too slow with isotope
nets with more than 70 isotopes and you will struggle with lack of memory
if you use the advanced eos data in the later releases. I suspect if you
have a laptop with an i9 chip and 16GB memory it will run well.
