[Mesa-users] How is defined the upper limit of the star core?

@Pablo, @Anne, let me to reformulate my question. Firstly, I’m supposing (maybe wrongly)  that the star core is modelled by the innermost zone and, as Pablo stated, “Central in here literally means the very center of the star”, so I’m wondering if the condition xa_central_lower_limit is equivalent to the mass fraction in the star core? 

Additionally, even if my assumption is wrong, what I was also trying to figure out is which condition(s) defines the extension and limit of the star core in MESA?

@Bill, really a very good “recipe” for digging into MESA source code and you’re right, I still have to figure out what dp is.

Hi Roque,

I am not sure what you mean by « star core » and « outermost limit of the center ».

In the history file you can for example decide to have the mass of the convective core  mass_conv_core (provided the star has a convective core).
There is also the he_core_mass.

For the exact definition of these quantities, you can proceed like Bill explained.
