[Mesa-users] Creating Initial Model through run_star_extras

Hi Christian,
Why exactly do you need a separate text file? What kind of thing are you
going to do next with these pre-main sequence models?
More specifically, are you attempting to specify a specific metallicity
profile or distribution? Or are you just trying to make a pre-main sequence
model with a specified total metallicity (e.g. z_initial = 0.02) and
initial mass (e.g. initial_mass = 19.0)?
If it's the latter, setting those commands in your inlist_project (if
you're using a typical $MESA_DIR/star/work directory) should work fine and
you should not need run_star_extras. What do you mean by "it didn’t work"?
How did it fail? The more information you provide us, the better we can
help.
Cheers!
~Jared
