Hello!
My name is Wanda, and I work with Sumner Starrfield at ASU.
Earlier this summer, I installed MESA 10108 on SDSC Comet, which has CentOS
6.7. I did not install the most recent version of MESA considering this
previous thread concerning installing MESA on a cluster with CentOS:
https://lists.mesastar.org/pipermail/mesa-users/2018-February/008625.html.
In the past week, Comet experienced some access issues:
https://portal.xsede.org/web/xup/user-news/-/news/item/9045 This didn't
seem to impact everyone, but I had a trial account for preparation of a
startup proposal. So now, I have a new trial account and have to reinstall
MESA! I'm getting a "./build_and_test FAILED" error in mtx, which I didn't
see previously? I'll note that the previous thread regarding MESA on CentOS
had the installation error at crlibm. The information requested on the MESA
installation page is as follows:
-
What version of MESA are you trying to build? *10108*
-
Are you using the MESA SDK? If so, what version?
*mesasdk-x86_64-linux-20170802.tar.gz*
<http://www.astro.wisc.edu/~townsend/resource/download/mesasdk/mesasdk-x86_64-linux-20170802.tar.gz>
-
Describe your computer (machine type, operating system, operating system
version). *centos-release-6-7.el6.centos.12.3.x86_64*
-
What is the output of each of the following commands?
uname -a
*Linux comet-ln2.sdsc.edu <http://comet-ln2.sdsc.edu>

- What is the error message you recieved? In addition, please attach the
full build.log file.
/home/astwand/mesa/mtx/test
TEST FAILED -- compare test_output to tmp.txt
/home/astwand/mesa/mtx
./build_and_test FAILED
If the error message you received was ./build_and_test FAILED also attach
the file $MESA_DIR/MODULE/test/tmp.txt, where MODULE is replaced with the
name of the module that failed. The name of the module that failed should
be printed on the line before the ./build_and_test message was printed.
*Attached below*
If the file tmp.txt file does not exist in the folder then run the tester
program
./tester 2>&1 | tee tester.log
and also attach tester.log file to your mesa-users message. If the tester
program does not exist, state that in your message.
Thanks for reading this message! I'd appreciate any advice about MESA on
Comet.
Yours sincerely,
Wanda
