hi meridith,

one could start from the test suite case $MESA_DIR/star/test_suite/7M_prems_to_AGB.

alternatively, you can try my attached inlist, which will take a ~2.5 msun zams 
to a ~0.6 msun hot wd. one can change the stopping criteria to stop wherever.
