Hi Ian —

HDF5 is a general-purpose platform-neutral format for data storage. It is (optionally) used in GYRE for input/output, and is also now used by some of the weak rates stuff.

You can obtain the HDF5 library (either pre-built binaries, or source) from here:

As the maintainer of the SDK, can I ask why you don’t use it? Is there something I could change which would make you more inclined to use the SDK?
