Hi Jing,
The "redo with smaller timestep to get closer to stopping target" message
in the terminal output is not a problem.
The inlist you attached contains:
xa_central_lower_limit_species(1) = 'h1'
xa_central_lower_limit(1) = 0.001
when_to_stop_rtol = 1d-5
when_to_stop_atol = 1d-5
This is telling MESA to stop the calculations when the central hydrogen
abundance reaches 0.001, or 0.1000000000E-02. Your inlist also specifies
the desired relative and absolute error tolerances (read about them here:
http://mesa.sourceforge.net/controls_defaults.html#when_to_stop_rtol). So
MESA is simply reducing the time steps as it nears the end of the evolution
in order to meet those stopping criteria.
