[mesa-users] Magnetic inhibition of convection: modifying EOS, energy, momentum

Hi,

I noticed a few months back on mesa-users that a few of you were attempting to implement magnetic inhibition of convection into MESA (Re: [mesa-users] dynamo effect on stellar str), using the approach given in Feiden & Chaboyer, 2012. I am trying to do this myself, and was wondering if any of you could help further. Currently, I have a modified other_mlt routine in run_star_extras.f to include the magnetic field, and edited the Get_results subroutine to include the new convection criterion and new temperature gradient by solving the quartic in ‘y’ from the literature.

However, I am aware that the pressure and energy need to be modified by P_mag and magnetic energy respectively, but am unsure how to approach this. If anyone was able to do this, could you indicate to me how to modify the EOS, equation of energy and momentum within run_star_extras.f in order to include these effects, please? It isn’t obvious to me how to explicitly modify P by adding P_mag etc. also.
