Hi Haliang,
I didn't run your model, but I suspect the first problem you're running
into is shocking the WD with a relatively rapid mass change (0 -> 1e-8
Msun/yr). Additionally, if you truly have a naked WD, transitioning
instantaneously from a C/O composition at the surface to a solar
composition material dramatically changes the structure and opacity near
the surface.
Try first accreting at a low (say, 1e-10) rate for ~100 years, then use the
relax_mass_change controls to ramp things up to your desired rate. Other
possibly useful suggestions for geting multi-cycle novae related to my nova

Getting novae to work in MESA has changed a bit since I wrote that, so you
are likely to run into more challenges during mass loss.
