[mesa-users] MESA Config files, question about inlist and running my own simulation

To whom it may concern,
Hi, I'm an junior year undergraduate student majoring astrophysics at
CMU. I'm currently starting a research project using MESA. I'm trying to
create a model of a low metallicity, low mass main sequence star, from zams
to tams. But I'm having trouble producing a typical HR diagram such a star
would have. I'm using samples in test_suite, and changing the parameters in
inlists.
I discovered that running the exact same inlists configuration files
under different suite folders produce different results.
For example I copied inlists files under "high_mass", to
"1M_pre_ms_to_wd" and overwrote the ones in the latter folder, and did
"./mk" and "./rn". I originally thought my "1M_pre_ms_to_wd" folder is now
equivalent to "high_mass" folder, because all the initial and terminal
conditions, and other control parameters are specified by the exact same
inlists files, and therefore would produce the same results. However the
plots and output data were quite different.
So my question is, besides inlists, are there actually much more settings
tuned to each specific test_suite evolution? For example if I specify
initial mass as 1solarMass and run it in "high_mass" folder, it would in
fact be incorrect?
Best,
Minghan Chen
