[mesa-users] EOS / Gamma_1 derivatives

Dear mesa-users,

In the specification of the FGONG file format [1, section 2.1.3],
model variables 26-28 are to contain derivatives of \Gamma_1 with
respect to density, pressure, and helium abundance, respectively;
with, in each case, the other two unused variables being held
constant.

FGONG files output by MESA indeed contain these variables, but they
seem at least to my eye to not contain the right information.
Comparing a MESA-calibrated solar model to Model S, I get very
different numbers: whereas Model S has smooth derivative profiles, the
ones output by MESA appear generally to be 0 everywhere excepting the
occasional apparently random number of apparently random magnitude.

I am outputting FGONGs with MESA via

      write_pulse_info_with_profile = .true.
      pulse_info_format = 'FGONG'
      format_for_FGONG_data = '(1P5E16.9,x)'

So I am just wondering if these are actually the \Gamma_1 derivatives,
and if not, if anyone has some wisdom for me as to how I may obtain
them.

Kind regards,
Earl Bellinger
