  Hi Taozhi,


  My guess is that MESA is using one of the predefined zams models found in $MESA_DIR/data/star_data/zams_models, whose metallicities are always going to be 0.02. If you want to create your own, customized zams model, you can add the following line to your &star_job section:


  create_pre_main_sequence_model = .true.


  and then initial_z = whatever to the &controls section (as well as initial_mass, so on and so forth).
