[mesa-users] varcontrol_target

Hi mesa users,

I have been trying to play mesa with a binary system, a Wolf-rayet(WR) star and Neutron star.

Now I am stuck with two problems below:
1.I find the parameter  varcontrol_target decides the track of WR star greatly, in order to test this, without changing any other parameters in all inlists. I plotted two figures in attachment.
 Mass evolution of WR star is plotted for three different varcontrol_targe, also about the period of the binary system.

Based on the figures below, it is weird, because varcontrol_targe has changed the initial mass and initial period.
(In my inlist_project, m1 = 10.0, initial_period_in_days = 0.2)

2. With the binary system evolution, for example, varcontrol_targe = 8d-4, the WR evolves very slowly. I think it should be due to the tilmestep, and from the terminal screen, in late stage, log_dt is less than -2(at the beginning, it is larger than 2).
I tried to use min_timestep_factor = 1.0, and it did not work. I also plotted the log_dt vs. star_age in attachment.
So can I control log_dt in late evolution ?

In a word, this parameter determines the track and speed of WR star evolution. I will also double check where I am not correct.
