[mesa-users] Build problem on linux Mint

The /const and /utils packages successfully build and then the install fails at the /crlibm build. I have attached the crlibm config.log. I have been working with the August 27 release of the sdk, but I tried the previous December release and encountered the same problem.

I found all of the prerequisite packages via the software manager, but I wasn't able to find 'make' only 'cmake' and not 'zlib-dev' but 'zlib1g-dev.' These packages have the same description as the ones listed on the sdk site, but I don't know if they would still be considered appropriate. I was able to find all of the other prerequisite packages under their referenced names.

I have also attached the env output. I added the following lines to the .cshrc file via the nano command:
setenv OMP_NUM_THREADS 1
setenv MESASDK_ROOT /home/james/mesasdk
source $MESASDK_ROOT/bin/mesasdk_init.csh
setenv MESA_DIR /home/james/mesa-r7624

(the mesa and sdk directories were extracted to my home directory)


my gfortran version is 4.9.3

I ran into some visual issues with running a virtual ubuntu machine, but I'm going to try and play with it some more while working on resolutions for my mint system.

Can you send me the config.log file from the crlibm/crlibm/config.log (ithink)

My first thought was that he was missing libc6-dev, but I think he verified that is installed and checked the other too.  He  said he had to use cmake instead of make, which makes me worry that there is something weird about the Mint install that is making it not find the right packages.

I have a student, cc'd here, trying to install mesa on Linux Mint in a virtual machine.  The SDK seems to be set up properly, but the build dies trying to run the configure script for crlibm with some complaint about the C compiler not working properly.  I'm concerned that there may be some essential package missing, but I don't know that much about Mint.

Any advice would be appreciated.  I've attached the output of ./install.  He has checked that gcc --version gives the right version.
