[mesa-users] Dependence of EOS on mixture

Hi Rich,

My sense is that you will have a hard time finding this explicitly in the
literature.  If you want to do specific EOS comparisons, I highly recommend
the FreeEOS code

FreeEOS.sourcforge.net

Not actively developed anymore, alas, but still the best available code for
on-the-fly EOS calculations that deal with partial ionisation and neutral
species.  If you're only interested in fully-ionized region then Frank's
codes are the way to go.

I have used FreeEOS in MESA and it works, but very slowly ( not
thread-safe).  We even used to distribute tables made with it, back in the
Dark Ages.
