[mesa-users] Enabling optimized compilation

Hi Rich,

It looks like the makefile_header has -O2 level optimizations on by default (see the FCopt variable) and debugging off (at least back in version 6794, see COMPILE_TO_DEPLOY). I haven’t played around with changing this in a while, but years ago I remember there being problems with using -O3. Was this the sort of optimization you were interested in?
