Great.  It is necessary to execute 

  export MESASDK_ROOT=/Applications/mesasdk
  source $MESASDK_ROOT/bin/mesasdk_init.sh

in each shell before you compile MESA.  (This is why it is suggested
that you may want to put these lines in your shell start-up files.)

Previously, you had not done so before attempting to ./install.
