[mesa-users] Mesa sound speeds

I'm using the most recent version I believe. I downloaded it about 1 month ago. I'm not sure what units mesa outputs in. I've been wondering. the other plots are in cm/s, I Know this. This is a screen shot of a plot of LANL pulsation codes ,used to interpolate the data from the mesa model vs sound speed data used in the code. Both are condenced into 72 points. I made sure the interpolation isn't the problem. I've personally hand picked data to make sure.

the first attachment (screenshot6.png) is a comparison with mesa in green and basu model in red.

Hi
What version of MESA are you using?

What values are you getting and what values do you expect to get for the csound (plots are helpful here)? Have you checked the units are the same? Can you show a plot of what you think is diverging and what you expect the data to show?

Hello, I'm running the mesa example_solar_model in the test_suite file and my sound speed plots are more than an order of magnitude greater than the data I have from AGS09. Is there something specific I'm doing wrong? o haven't changed anything, but the data looks completely divergent in the csound department. This doesn't seem correct because the mesa power point files indicate they closely match the sun helioseismology inferences, yet I'm not seeing that data when i run the simulation. could someone help. the model runs diverges regardless of opacities. I've change them to check and they just diverge in the same manner. especially at r>0.5.

thanks,
Ebraheem

That worked perfectly, thanks!

Pretty sure that your composition file is backwards. That is, the first
column (xq) should be monotonically increasing.

If I reverse the lines (i.e., select region, M-x reverse-region), I get
the the attached abundance profile.

Josiah

P.S. Also, you should probably have a point at xq = 1.0.
