[mesa-users] MESA code Questions!!

I don't believe I've turned on the diffusion. Do you know i can specifically turn on the diffusion to the type i previously linked, and if I could possibly use the nuclear reaction rates closest to those of the ones i previously linked?

diffusion is not turned on by default, but I assume you have turned it on as in the sample solar model test case.
even with diffusion on, the surface layers may be mixed into the convective region, so you'll only see changes in abundances that impact the entire convective region.  such things might happen -- but only if the burning effects are getting into the convective region somehow.  i'm not an expert of that question, but I believe there are some folks on mesa-users who have considered this (Matteo?).
